On the Move- In Reverse

I put Reagan on her stomach in the middle of my living room. I sat down here at the computer some 9 feet away, and when I looked up, she was there next to me. She had crawled DOWN A STEP without me hearing a thing, and then looked up at me, smiling from ear to ear. I asked her "HOW did you get down here????" She smiled at me again, and scooted herself backwards. AHA. Tricky thing. She seems to like the tile in here, because she can slide around better than on carpet. Doesn't look all that comfy to me, but whatever makes her happy!!! She's doing brodies now, pivoting in circles. Funny girl.

This time in our Lives

I was thinking today how much I love this time in my life. Don't get me wrong - I have MORE than my share of humiliating, ego-dashing "mommy moments". Being a mother is by far the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, and I often seriously doubt how good I am at it. BUT - I kind of feel that, as I'm "in the thick of it", it's also the time that I'll miss the most when the kids are older. All three are still in the "sweet and innocent" stage (minus a few bratty pre-school type behaviors). I get my baby fix with my little girl Reagan, and I love having conversations with the boys. I laugh constantly at their view of the world. Overall, I'm just.... content.... right now, and I love that feeling. THIS PLACE is where I've been aiming, THIS is where my life has been building. It's good to be here. And I want to appreciate it, because I know it's fleeting.

The Face of Misery

Poor Little Girl! THIS is how she woke up today - after being INDOORS all day yesterday, and sleeping for 14 hours last night. Some bug went to town on her poor face. The mosquitos are HORRIBLE right now at our house, and the inside doesn't seem to be all that much better than outside. We're all bit, but we can all put up some sort of defense, and she can't. I thought about spraying her with bugspray before bed last night, but DEET on a baby makes me nervous....

That's the price she pays for being Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice.

The Highchair

Reagan inherited the boys' old highchair today, because Mom was tired of chasing the tyke from side to side when using the Bumbo. She's much more stable in this thing, and that means LESS MESS.

Another Developmental Milestone

Reagan can now "roll in succession". I put her in the middle of the living room today, went to go change loads in the wash machine, and came back to find her in the kitchen! She is mobile. Watch out. She discovered on our trip to Spokane what I KNEW she could do for awhile now (but wouldn't because she didn't want to).... rolling from her back to her stomach. She's a rolling maniac now. My little roley poley bug. She's also currently enjoying bananas (her fave, next to carrots) and eating the newspaper.

7 month Birthday

Seven months old today, and still in size 1 diapers! Way to save me money, little girl! We're on vacation, so will post pics later, but couldn't let the day go by unnoticed.
