Church Nursery

A friend took these pictures of Reagan, anxiously awaiting her family in the nursery, while the rest of us went to church.  Too cute.  She LOOKS like she would be a polite little girl during church, doesn't she?  She's not.  Looks are deceiving.  So to the nursery she goes.

Her First Analogy

Even though expressive language is a little slower in progression that her peers, COGNITION definitely isn't.  Reagan came up with her first analogy last night.  We were stuck in a motel room in Milwaukee, girls in one bed, boys in another.  Reagan patted my bosom, and then patted the pillow.  Then again patted my bosom, and patted the pillow.  She did it like 4 or 5 times, as if to gesture that "your bosom is as squishy as this pillow, mom".  Then she patted her own belly, just to show that I wasn't the only squishy one.  Silly, silly, silly girl.

Language Update

Now that Reagan has stopped speech therapy, her language has really taken off.  Crazy.  She's saying "Coh-be" pretty consistently now, and piping up with lots of words we've never heard before!!!  SO CUTE to hear her talking and making some sembelance of sense!

Naming the Brothers

Reagan usually calls Quinn and Colby "boys" or "guys".  Boh of rthem.  I know this is my fault - she's just repeating her mother's incessant nagging voice yelling "BOYS!"  Anyways.  Lately, we've been working really hard on saying their NAMES.  We've spent days practicing "Coh-bee".  She gets it once out of every 25 tries or so, but mostly, she calls him "Bee-coh", which makes me smile.  Quinn's name seems to be beyond her capabilities at this point, although every once in awhile she'll say "Kin".    Of course, putting the right name with the right boy is another thing entirely, and we haven't even BEGUN to get that down.  Heck, the boys can't even tell THEMSELVES apart in pictures - how's a two year old girl supposed to????

She calls herself  "baby".  Again, most likely because she was called "baby Reagan" for entirely longer than she should've been by other members of this family.  We've been practicing her name as well, which mostly just comes out as "gun".  Sometimes "Bay gun".

New Word

Word of the week... "FUN!"  Oh, and "pants".  And "push".  And "yo yo".  She's actually picked up several new ones this week.  That's a good sign.  English is progressing!
