Reagan Update
Today, Reagan asked to go to bed by saying "Ni ni" for the first time! She's been consistently standing up in her highchair and telling me "ah-duh" (all done) for about a week now. Also noticed that when someone compliments her shoes, she immediately looks down at them - definitely recognizing that word. Last night she woke up several times (teething persists - two canines on bottom working their way through), but this morning starting yelling "ahhhhh duh" to get out of her crib as soon as the sun arose. It was so cute, I couldn't be irritated. She does a fair-to-middlin' job of using a spoon to feed herself, and we've initiated liquids in a cup without a lid (she gets wet. We'll keep practicing). Photo shoot this afternoon, trying to use the manual focus rather than the dummy focus. We'll see how they turned out. She's such a little ham. She gets this cheesy grin on her face whenever the camera looks at her....

AHA
Since she was a tiny baby, Reagan has been adamant about having a bottle at bedtime. To prevent the tooth-rot that I know usually accompanies this, I generally give her water only - but it's enough to get her to sleep. Bad habit, I know. It is what it is. Today, though, I broke her of the habit, completely by accident. She had gotten ahold of one of the boys' electric toothbrush, and it must've felt really good on her gums. As I couldn't get it away from her, it went into the crib. Viola. No bottle fuss! WHEW. The creativity never ends when you're a mom.

A Dubious Milestone
Reagan got thrown in the slammer today (aka her crib) for her first ever Time Out. The offense? SOMEHOW prying open a can of brown paint, and painting herself and the floor a lovely shade of chocolate. She's a fast one, this girl. I had her with me in the bathroom not 3 minutes before. Left the room to check on something, and a few minutes later, Dad came in to discover the mess. UGH. She's learned wayyyyyyyy too much from her brothers. They didn't start painting themselves and the walls until three years old!!

We have a Walker
Third post today, which I know is a bit excessive, but walking finally "clicked" for Reagan today, meaning she was walking instead of crawling the ENTIRE DAY!!!! She fell alot, but would get right back up and start walking again. She looked like a little robo-baby, tottering around. I've been waiting for the big "click", and it just wasn't coming and wasn't coming. Today, officially, Reagan used walking as her primary means of locomotion. She also cleared the books off the nightstand, swept off every table-top she could reach, emptied about four drawers, and got in the lower cupboards about six times. WHY did I want her to walk so bad????
The Long Sleep
So, Reagan slept very little on our trip to Florida, taking short naps and waking up several times each night. For her nap yesterday, our first day home, she slept 3 hours in the morning. I put her down for her afternoon nap at 3:30, and she didn't wake up again until 7:30 am this morning. That's one tired chickie!!!
The Helpful Brother
Video from our trip to Florida of Reagan walking, assisted by an oh-so-helpful Quinn. She goes a little farther than this now, but the "style" of the walk is still the same ;).
The other trick Reagan learned on this trip was how to bite. With those new teeth, you know. She bit both brothers so hard that it left teeth-mark bruises that lasted for days, and she TRIED to bite me, but I was wise by that time. She reminds me of Sunny Beaudelaire from "A Series of Unfortunate Events", the baby who's special talent is her ability to bite through anything and speak gobbledy-gook.

Sixteen Months Old
Reagan turned 16 months on our trip to Florida. She's walking now - in a zombie-esque, unsteady style, for short distances. But it's coming. She sprouted TWO new teeth while here, which, coupled with the lack of schedule, new environment, close quarters with her brothers, and small crib led to a not-so pleasant little girl for the first few days of the trip. Luckily, we have our sweet-thing back now that the canines have punched through the gums!
