I tried everything I could to untangle that comb.  We used conditioner, I picked at it with a crochet hook, I wiggle and squiggled it.  All to no avail.  The scissors were the only solution.  It could have been much, much worse.  She HAS bangs now, and not a bald spot.  She should be thankful, but of course she is mortified and won't let me take a picture of her hair.  Lesson learned.  Don't use a comb on tangly hair.
