I have asked the little girl a full 15 times to clean her bedroom over the past three days. She's not enthused at the prospect, and has tried everything in her power (distraction, pleading with puppy dog eyes and a cherry on top, changing the subject, feigning illness) to get out of the task. My patience is waning, and so I'm getting more stern with each request.
Mom: "Reagan. Get in there and clean your bedroom."
Knowing that my tone means next step is severe reprimand... she's finally giving in. But not without the last word.
Reagan: "When I'm a grown up, YOU have to listen to ME!!"
Deal. I will listen to you just as well as you listen to me right now.
Now GO.CLEAN.YOUR.ROOM.
